12-Month Same-Fault Guarantee, Full Terms
Solar & Battery Dr stands behind the quality of our diagnostic and repair work.
Where Solar & Battery Dr diagnoses and completes a repair to a solar, battery or related electrical system, that repair is covered by our 12-Month Same-Fault Guarantee from the date the repair is completed.
If the same diagnosed fault returns within 12 months and is determined to relate to the repair work originally completed by us, we will return to inspect the system and rectify the covered fault without charging an additional standard call-out or labour fee.
The guarantee applies to the specific fault diagnosed and repair work recorded on the applicable job report, invoice or service documentation.
A similar symptom, warning light, error code or loss of system operation does not necessarily mean that the same fault has occurred. Solar and battery systems contain multiple components that can produce similar symptoms. Our technician will determine whether the reported issue is the same underlying fault covered by the original repair.
The 12-month period begins on the date the covered repair is completed.
This guarantee is provided in addition to any rights and remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.
What is covered
The 12-Month Same-Fault Guarantee covers:
- The same underlying fault that was previously diagnosed and repaired by Solar & Battery Dr.
- Defects arising from workmanship associated with the original repair.
- Reattendance required because work completed by Solar & Battery Dr has not successfully rectified the originally diagnosed fault.
- Standard labour required to rectify a fault confirmed as being covered by this guarantee.
- Standard call-out charges associated with an approved guarantee claim.
- Components supplied and installed by Solar & Battery Dr where the component is covered by an applicable manufacturer or supplier warranty, subject to the terms of that warranty.
Where a replacement component has failed, Solar & Battery Dr will assist with the applicable manufacturer or supplier warranty process where reasonably possible.
Where the manufacturer or supplier provides a replacement component under warranty, any labour coverage will depend on the terms of this guarantee, the original scope of work and any applicable manufacturer warranty.
What is not covered
The 12-Month Same-Fault Guarantee does not cover:
- New or unrelated faults occurring after the original repair.
- A different underlying fault that produces the same or similar symptom, warning light, error code or system behaviour.
- Failure of another component that was not repaired or replaced as part of the original work.
- Existing defects identified or noted at the time of the original service but not included in the approved repair.
- Additional repairs or recommendations declined by the customer.
- Equipment that was identified as damaged, deteriorated, non-compliant or approaching the end of its serviceable life where replacement was recommended but not undertaken.
- Manufacturer defects, recalls or failures outside the work performed by Solar & Battery Dr, except where separate manufacturer warranty rights apply.
- Changes to manufacturer software, firmware, cloud services, monitoring platforms or third-party applications.
- Internet, Wi-Fi, mobile network, SIM, communications or third-party monitoring outages unless the original repair specifically related to equipment supplied and installed by Solar & Battery Dr.
- Electricity network or grid conditions, including high or low grid voltage, supply interruptions, export limitations or distributor/network faults.
- Damage caused by storms, lightning, flooding, fire, power surges, extreme weather or other events outside our reasonable control.
- Damage caused by animals, birds, rodents, insects, vegetation, debris or environmental conditions.
- Damage caused by water ingress unless the ingress directly resulted from work performed by Solar & Battery Dr.
- Accidental damage, misuse, neglect, vandalism or physical damage.
- Alterations, repairs, servicing, disconnection or modification carried out by another contractor or person after our repair where that work may have contributed to the fault.
- Changes or additions to the solar, battery, switchboard, electrical installation, network connection or associated equipment following our repair.
- Normal wear and tear or routine maintenance requirements.
- Panel cleaning, system performance degradation, shading changes or environmental factors affecting solar production unless specifically included within the original repair.
- Consumable items unless specifically stated otherwise.
- Loss of solar generation, battery savings, feed-in tariff revenue, business income or other consequential losses, except to the extent that such rights cannot lawfully be excluded.
This guarantee does not mean that an entire solar or battery system is guaranteed for 12 months following a repair. It applies only to the specific repair and same underlying fault covered by the original work.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
How to make a claim
If you believe the same fault has returned:
- Contact Solar & Battery Dr as soon as reasonably practicable after noticing the issue and within 12 months of the original repair date.
- Provide your name, service address and original job number or invoice number where available.
- Provide details of the issue, including any error codes, warning lights, photographs or screenshots where available.
- Allow Solar & Battery Dr reasonable access to inspect and diagnose the system.
We may initially perform remote troubleshooting or request photographs, monitoring information or error codes before arranging an onsite attendance.
If our assessment confirms that the issue is the same underlying fault covered by the 12-Month Same-Fault Guarantee, the applicable standard call-out and labour required to rectify that covered fault will be provided at no additional charge.
If our technician determines that the issue is a new or unrelated fault, or falls within one of the exclusions above, the attendance and any required repair may be chargeable. We will advise you of any applicable charges before proceeding with additional repair work wherever reasonably practicable.
Customers should not arrange for another contractor to alter or repair the affected work before Solar & Battery Dr has had a reasonable opportunity to assess the claim, except where urgent work is required to make the installation safe.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, customers are responsible for providing reasonable and safe access to the property and equipment.
